Jessie Walker works with faculty to support impactful, basic science research using the tools and resources of the big data revolution. The specific goal is to support focused interdisciplinary teams targeting the greatest challenges facing St. Louis, the nation, and the world: global migration and environmental change, social media and misinformation, demographic change and aging, structural inequality (economic, racial, geographic, health, and education), and democratic decline Jessie is a native of Arkansas with 18+ years of experience working with diverse communities in both postsecondary and private sector. This includes extensive experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research supported by external funding from national sources such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DOD); as well as private sector entities such as Oracle, Dell, Acxiom Corporation, MasterCard, Amazon AWS, IBM, and Sony Corporation, which resulted in $15+ Million in competitive research funding. In addition, he brings a unique set of skills to the TRAID team with his proficiencies.
Gregory Porter works with faculty to support research. He began his 10+ years of experience in the private sector as a Web Developer. He expanded his skills to include a variety of languages, architectures, and end users. Greg has received training as a Scrum Master and a Professional Coach giving him the experience to help clients identify what they need, and with his software development experience, he can then build that desired solution.
